Amidst the bustle of Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei electronics market, Gu Daoming, General Manager of Qiannenghui, has spent over twenty years evolving from an individual proprietor to founding a chip company, transitioning from an agent to establishing the independent brand "QNHCHIP". Persistently holding onto his original aspirations and overcoming challenges, he has not only forged his own foundry brand in the domestic chip field with his unique business philosophy but also holds a key position in the "Huaqiangbei Merchant Electronic Culture", contributing to the development of the merchant electronics community. Recently, the editorial team from Slkor visited Qiannenghui's newly relocated office in the Grade A office building of Leconghui Tower, Guanlan, Longhua, for an in-depth conversation with Mr. Gu, hearing him share his experiences in creating an independent brand.

Shenzhen Qiannenghui Electronics Co., Ltd. , founded in 2012, is a company that develops both agency and independent brand businesses in parallel, dedicated to providing customers with the most cost-effective power chips. It currently focuses on the R&D of low-power consumption power chips and low-voltage, low-power MOSFETs. Presently, the company primarily represents brands such as Shanghai Belling, Nanjing Micro One, Holtek, Torex, Nanlin Electronics, and Aerospace Minxin. Its independent brand "QNHCHIP" primarily focuses on chip foundry services. The company has long-term stable cooperative production facilities and packaging/testing plants, having previously collaborated with leading domestic brand supply chains like Xiaomi, Midea, and Aimitek.

Gu Daoming, founder of Qiannenghui, explained the meaning behind the company name: "'Qian' is taken from the Qian hexagram in the 'Book of Changes' (I Ching), signifying 'The movement of heaven is full of power. Thus the superior man makes himself strong and untiring,' reflecting Qiannenghui's spirit of continuously pursuing development. 'Neng' means drawing energy from the universe. 'Hui' means benefiting more customers and peers." He himself is very interested in traditional Chinese culture and Sinology. Hanging in his office is a calligraphy piece titled "Purple Air from the East" (a propitious sign in Chinese culture) and an oil painting of "The Great Wall". These not only reflect his love for traditional culture but also embody his beautiful vision for the company's future development – vibrant like the rising sun and solid, stable, enduring, and advancing like the Great Wall. He said: "Because the Great Wall represents an important force in China's excellent traditional culture and holds profound significance, I specifically commissioned an artist to paint this oil painting by hand. It's also a unique piece in the market."

Gu Daoming hails from Wuhua, Meizhou, Guangdong, embodying the characteristics of the Hakka people from Eastern Guangdong: "diligent, simple, pioneering, enterprising, and willing to share." His journey in the chip industry began in 2001. After graduating from university that year, he accepted his brother's invitation to enter the chip industry, becoming a store manager at a shop in Huaqiang Electronics World, responsible for store operations. In 2004, when imported chips dominated the market, leveraging his insight into the market and industry development, he recognized the huge potential of domestic chips. Observing those around him contemplating starting businesses, he decided to rent a counter in Huaqiangbei and began distributing domestic chips as an individual proprietor.

"Initially, I only distributed diodes and transistors from Changdian. Later, seeing the prospects of power management, I began distributing Nanjing Micro One's products around 2010," said Gu Daoming. As his industry experience accumulated, his inner desire to create an independent brand grew stronger. In fact, the seed of brand creation was planted in his mind when he was just over twenty years old. "Because I studied Marketing in university, I understood the importance of brand building very early on. I even tried sharing a big brand with relatives back in 2003. It didn't succeed after a trial period, but I didn't want to give up and kept persisting in that direction." Consequently, in 2012, he formally registered and established Shenzhen Qiannenghui Electronics Co., Ltd., embarking on the path of domestic brand development.

Gu Daoming deeply understands that excellent product quality and service levels are the foundation of brand development. After the company's establishment, he began planning to increase R&D investment and expand the product line. He established production, learning, and R&D cooperation with South China Normal University (SCNU) to cultivate professional talent. "Our cooperation with SCNU has been quite good. We previously invested funds for them to develop layouts for several integrated circuits for us, with good results. SCNU also sends us some excellent graduates now, mainly FAE (Field Application Engineer) engineers responsible for embedded systems and reliability testing," he said. As a Senior Engineer certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Gu Daoming also personally participates in solution discussions, joining engineers in defining and developing certain power chips. Under his leadership, Qiannenghui has not only obtained over ten patents and gradually built a good reputation in the power management chip field but has also enriched its product categories, adding new products like operational amplifiers, comparators, ADCs/DACs, logic ICs, and interface ICs. These are widely used in consumer electronics such as 3C digital products, cameras, surveillance equipment, power banks, beauty devices, smart lamps, and Bluetooth speakers.

Discussing future plans, Mr. Gu stated that Qiannenghui will continue to focus on the R&D of domestic chips and brand penetration. Having been in the industry for 24 years, Gu Daoming has consistently insisted on selling domestic chips. This persistence not only reflects his support for the domestic industry but also demonstrates his confidence in the quality and performance of domestic chips. He started working with domestic chips in the early 2000s and has witnessed their development from weakness to strength in Huaqiangbei. He proudly said, "We only do domestic chips now. The company will focus on the end market in the future, continuously accumulating and enhancing brand awareness and influence."
