Song Shiqiang on Strategy: Highlights from the 2026 electronica Shanghai Dialogues
2026-07-22
In early July 2026, Kinghelm and Slkor made a high-profile appearance at 2026 electronica Shanghai, sending a team of over 30 people and occupying a 72-square-meter booth with a technologically striking and visually powerful layout. As a thought leader in Huaqiangbei, General Manager Mr. Song Shiqiang was invited to the eefocus Executive Dialogue live studio, participated in interviews and live streaming with Zhixin Suge’s "GESA Chip Shines East," and contributed to a special written interview with Hc360.com – all of which drove strong exposure and deep brand engagement for "Kinghelm" and "Slkor." At electronica Shanghai, Kinghelm and Slkor showcased their capabilities alongside international giants such as TE Connectivity, Amphenol, Molex, Hirose, Infineon, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, and onsemi, as well as outstanding domestic players including Electric Connector, Changjiang Connector, Silan Micro, China Resources Micro, and Jiejie Microelectronics – competing, exchanging ideas, and growing together.
Song Shiqiang on Strategy I: "Slkor: Chinese Semiconductors Going Global"
Mr. Song Shiqiang, founder of Slkor Semiconductor, engaged in a compelling discussion with Mr. Li Jian, senior industry analyst at eefocus, on the theme "Slkor: Chinese Semiconductors Going Global."
Slkor Semiconductor founder Song Shiqiang (left) with eefocus senior industry analyst Li Jian
Chinese power semiconductors are transitioning from the "chip shortage" dividend period to the deep waters of market competition. As global chip supplies normalize and international brands cut prices to recapture market share, the window for domestic substitution is narrowing. In this context, Mr. Song shared the "disruptive innovation" path he has practiced throughout his entrepreneurial journey.
Mr. Song Shiqiang (left) at the eefocus live studio
Song pointed out that while cutting-edge technologies like silicon carbide have great promise, their R&D and commercialization cycles are lengthy, making them less optimal for startups. Slkor chose to start with products such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and bridge rectifiers – technologies that are relatively mature, have lower entry barriers, and shorter cycles, enabling rapid cash flow generation. Later, the company added ESD protection diodes, TVS transient suppression diodes, power management ICs, and other analog products. This strategy reflects a deep understanding and flexible application of the economic principles of "disruptive innovation" – which involves breaking through from niche markets to the core, penetrating and gradually displacing high-end products from the low-end, ultimately achieving sustained innovation and breakthroughs.
At the same time, Slkor and its sister company Kinghelm have built a unique dual-brand synergistic ecosystem. Mr. Song recalled that the initial rationale for running the "Kinghelm" and "Slkor" dual brands was to diversify risks from market fluctuations and public listing. Unexpectedly, both brands have flourished, and cross-orders from customers have generated a "1+1>2" ecological reuse effect – with upfront investments in brand penetration, sample delivery, employee training, and internal knowledge engineering paying off in one go.
Song Shiqiang: We want to let time verify our products, our brand, and the value of our team
Song attributes the competitiveness of Chinese semiconductor companies to two factors: first, the diligence of the Chinese people, with sustained positive labor input driving rapid product iteration; second, the maturity of the domestic industrial chain, where technology and market mutually reinforce each other in a virtuous cycle. However, he also clearly recognizes that competition is intensifying. In a weak economy, massive capital has flooded into the electronics information sector, and the growth in industry output value lags far behind the influx of speculative capital. "Competing on price, efficiency, and response speed" has become the norm.
Currently, Slkor is evolving from "product going global" to a new stage of "comprehensive globalization," aiming to secure a prominent position in the global power semiconductor landscape. Song remarked: "Our company has a rule: we don’t do things that can be done by three to five people, nor things that can be done in three to five years. We want to let time verify our products, our brand, and the value of our team. This is also our corporate firewall."

Song Shiqiang: Kinghelm’s goal is the stars and the sea – to become a publicly listed company representing a national brand!
"Kinghelm" conveys a powerful sense of strength, rich in meaning and depth. "Kinghelm – Connecting the World." In 2007, Shenzhen Kinghelm Electronics Co., Ltd. set sail from Huaqiangbei, Shenzhen. Its technical team, rooted in Tsinghua University and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, has attracted outstanding professionals, deepened its expertise in microwave RF technology, and established new technology research institutes in collaboration with universities. Today, it has grown into a nationally recognized high-tech enterprise, industry-leading in the R&D, production, sales, and technical services of RF microwave signal transmission products and comprehensive solutions. High technology, superior quality, and safety are our unremitting pursuits.
Mr. Song explained that Kinghelm’s English name combines "King" (meaning sovereign) and "helm" (the rudder that steers direction and navigates storms). "Kinghelm" signifies ambitious goals, fearlessness in the face of challenges, and the pursuit of a royal path – embodying the Eastern wisdom of "Inner Sage, Outer King" and "Great Virtue Sustains All Things" advocated by Mr. Song. "Kinghelm – Connecting the World." Since its founding in 2007, the company has successfully shaped the "King’s Rudder" brand image, achieving remarkable success in the Beidou satellite navigation and positioning systems and related products, leading industry trends, and emerging as a "leading enterprise" in the sector. Meanwhile, its market share in the connector segment continues to grow, and the "Kinghelm" brand enjoys influence and reputation in international markets.
Mr. Song emphasized that Kinghelm’s slogan is "Kinghelm – Connecting the World." "We strive to produce excellent products, capture more market share, and serve more customers. Kinghelm’s corporate vision is to make our antennas and connectors serve a broad customer base, facilitating smooth global communication and social harmony. Products are the vessel; culture is the soul. Culture empowers products with a 'brand soul.' Our goal is the stars and the sea – to become a publicly listed company representing a national brand, and to bring our 'Inner Sage, Outer King' corporate culture and 'Kinghelm' brand products to the world. A public listing signifies success for both our individuals and the company, and enables our employees to share more in the rewards. It is precisely our people-centric philosophy – 'good work leads to a good life' – and the organizational and behavioral mechanisms built upon it, combined with ensuring that knowledge density, talent structure, systems, processes, and mechanisms efficiently complete the business loop, that have enabled Kinghelm to achieve high efficiency, greater rewards for colleagues, an ever-growing team with stronger cohesion and commitment, and rapid and steady development even during industry downturns."

Song Shiqiang: Slkor aims to become one of the world’s most competitive semiconductor companies
"Slkor–Chips Driven future." Since its founding in 2015, Slkor has risen as a formidable contender. Its technical backbone comes from Tsinghua University and Yonsei University in South Korea, leading the company with new materials, new processes, and new products, and mastering world-leading third-generation semiconductor silicon carbide power device technology. "Slkor" – trust is the foundation, righteousness is the soul; trust is inscribed in the vessel, righteousness is fulfilled in action. This conviction drives our continuous exploration of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. Our friends are spread across four seas, and our products reach five continents. Together with its sister company Kinghelm, Slkor has formed a high-speed development model driven by the interactive push of the "Kinghelm" and "Slkor" brands and products, deeply integrated with China’s booming semiconductor chip market. We treat our colleagues with care, develop products with dedication, serve our customers with heart, and hope to make the future better through our products and technologies.
Song noted that ultimately, business success comes down to culture. Taking the 2026 electronica Shanghai as an example, over 2,000 top exhibitors from home and abroad competed on the same stage – from booth design and corporate videos to team core competencies and individual best performances. On the surface, it was all about selling products, finding customers, and boosting sales, but in essence, it was a showcase of culture, strength, and depth – and also an opportunity to train the team and empower each employee. These are the "soul" elements. What deserves reflection is how to effectively present team spirit, company strength, brand influence, technological and product leadership; how to disseminate corporate values, vision, and mission efficiently and accurately through corporate videos; and how to understand the essence of service, customers’ latent needs, and differentiated competitive strategies – these are the gaps between Chinese companies and multinational giants in the process of globalization.
Song particularly emphasized that Slkor’s global strategy follows a path of specialization, differentiation, and high-end development, consciously resisting "involution-style" competition, and surviving and growing amidst multiple constraints. It has become one of the best-developed companies in China’s semiconductor sector. This differentiated competition means continuous innovation, continuous deployment, continuous self-pressure, and continuous self-breakthrough. Only thus could Slkor seize the opportunity at 2026 electronica Shanghai to showcase its strength, creativity, corporate culture, and attention to detail to peers and partners worldwide. Observing over the past few days, I found that the Slkor and Kinghelm booth attracted more foot traffic, energy, and visitor flow than neighboring booths – because our team arrived earliest and most completely, everyone prepared thoroughly upon arrival, kept working hard, helped each other, and spontaneously reviewed and summarized experiences during breaks. Improving a little every day, staying focused on our goals – it is this spirit that enables Slkor Semiconductor to excel in products, business, and every detail, and has now set it on a path of high-quality development, solidifying the foundation for its public listing.
Song Shiqiang on Strategy III: "The Counter-Attack and Breakthrough of Domestic Brands"
Slkor’s article featured as the headline in Hc360.com’s "Chip News Top Stories" column
As a thought leader in the electronics information industry, Mr. Song Shiqiang has attracted widespread attention. Slkor’s press release "See You Next Year | Slkor’s Highlights at 2026 electronica Shanghai" was featured as the lead story in Hc360.com’s "Chip News Top Stories" column. Excerpts from Hc360’s written interview with Slkor’s Song Shiqiang were included in the article "AI Computing Power 'Consumes' Capacity, Power Devices Tight Across the Board". In light of the market situation where "AI data center deployments are driving strong demand for power switches and ICs, leading to shortages," Mr. Song’s core views, corporate strategy, and trend assessments are as follows:
Slkor founder Mr. Song Shiqiang
Core View: For MOSFETs and IGBTs, due to capacity squeezes at foundries and OSATs from other higher-margin products, lead times have lengthened this year, with occasional shortages.
Corporate Strategy: Domestic power devices are evolving from initial "device replacement" to comprehensive "solution competition." This year, the adoption of Slkor’s SiC MOSFETs and other products at the customer end has accelerated, driven by growing recognition of the domestic "Slkor" brand. However, due to intense competition among peers, significant volume growth has not yet materialized.
Trend Assessment: In domestic power device production, domestic brands are gradually squeezing out import brands – particularly evident in low-end products, with signs of loosening in high-end products as well. This assessment provides a positive signal for the trend that "the upward cycle will continue at least through 2027," confirming the explosive momentum of domestic substitution acceleration. The industry rule of "disruptive innovation" applies here as well.

After Two Consecutive Titles, We Are Still making progress——Slkor Interview with Sun Gaofei
2026-06-11
After winning the monthly sales team championship of the company's "A-team" for March and April, and with core member Luo Yanping winning individual sales champion twice, Sun Gaofei, Director of Sales Department I at Slkor, is leading his team to challenge for a third title. During the interview, he said, "The current state of our team is: going up the mountain to hunt tigers, and even the tigers are afraid of us." He then laughed, "But that's just an inside joke. Winning this championship is the result of everyone's hard work."
Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm & Slkor, presenting an award to Sales Department I
Sun Gaofei majored in Applied Electronic Technology in college. After graduation, he worked in R&D for three years. His technical background has been a great help in leading the team – clients' technical staff are willing to have in-depth conversations with him, and he can directly help team members solve problems. However, when talking about the methods for winning the championship, he focused on team operations. His thinking is very clear: first break down the team's goals for each person, then have each person implement them with specific clients. In March, they proactively managed demand by having some clients place orders early. Entering April, he anticipated that this early consumption would lead to a slowdown, so he quickly adjusted the strategy – requiring the team to dig deeper into existing clients for other product models to generate incremental performance. "Since clients are already cooperating with us, their trust in us is very high." The effect of this deeper digging showed up in April, and the team fought another outstanding performance battle.
Song Shiqiang, Luo Yanping, Sun Gaofei
In his view, everyone's strategies are quite similar, and the most critical factor for success is the team's mindset. "One characteristic of our team is that whenever I say we need to push for performance, everyone is full of confidence and enthusiasm." The atmosphere where everyone is striving and trusts each other is the true competitive edge. After Luo Yanping won the individual sales champion for two consecutive months, Sun Gaofei specifically asked her to give a full-process sharing session – covering everything from client development, client follow-up, securing orders, to delivery schedule management, payment collection, and client maintenance. "Once a benchmark is set, everyone realizes this is not the ceiling, but the highest flag for now, and everyone wants to chase it." That sharing session received a good response within the team, especially for new members who were unclear about their goals; after listening, they knew in which direction to focus their efforts.
Sales Department I champion trophy and mobile red flag
The team's ability to charge ahead would not be possible without strong support from the back end. Sun Gaofei repeatedly mentioned the importance of the Slkor brand's reputation and cross-departmental cooperation: "The brand effect is very significant. Now the Slkor brand has gained recognition in the market, and the number of daily inquiries is stable. With timely cooperation from the supply chain, warehouse, and finance departments, we are able to close the deals. Performance is not just about the sales team fighting for orders; it is accomplished together by everyone."
Sun Gaofei, Director of Sales Department I, during the interview
Having served as Director of Sales Department I for over two years, Sun Gaofei believes the two most critical things in leading a team are: helping members solve problems and fairly distributing benefits. "As the team leader, you must solve problems satisfactorily, not just paint a rosy picture without taking action." He gave an example: while a team member was on maternity leave, her client in Zhongshan had a complaint. He immediately rushed there with an engineer and resolved the issue that same day. "Salespeople have sharp eyes; they know very well whether you can truly help them solve problems."
Sun Gaofei's "Standardized Summary of Master-Apprentice Training"
In terms of training newcomers, Sun Gaofei's first step is to "give a preventive shot". "In the semiconductor industry, no newcomer can achieve a breakthrough immediately after joining. Real growth comes from starting with small clients and moving to large ones, from following sample trials to mass production – this is a long process. But once you succeed, one good project can bring continuous returns for three to five years."
In terms of specific coaching, he emphasizes eight words: "Be proactive, act with integrity." "Newcomers are confused when they join; we assign them mentors, but you must take the initiative to ask. The principle of our Sales Department I is that whenever a newcomer asks a question, we share everything we know." He says he has taught many people, but how much they learn depends on their aptitude. "The person who is proactive will definitely learn the fastest."
Sun Gaofei training new salespeople on professional knowledge
Slkor semiconductor product series
Looking ahead to the semiconductor market in May, Sun Gaofei admitted that this time of year is usually peak season, but this year there is a slowdown, with even fewer clients asking for quotes. The team is currently adopting new strategies to maintain performance growth, but he is not comfortable disclosing them in advance. "It's not good to talk about things that haven't materialized yet." As for whether they can win the championship for the third time, his answer was very straightforward: "Stay tuned."
General Manager Song Shiqiang expressed his hope that the several sales teams of Kinghelm and Slkor would maintain their fighting spirit, strengthen cooperation amid competition, and grab more orders in the market. He wished the company and his colleagues ever better performance!
