The GBLC05C series is a low-capacitance transient voltage suppression array specifically designed for modern electronic devices, utilizing advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology. The series offers both unidirectional and bidirectional configurations, with a rated power of up to 350W (8/20μs waveform), effectively absorbing and dissipating transient energy. It strictly adheres to international standards such as IEC61000-4-2 (ESD) and IEC61000-4-4 (EFT), providing reliable protection against ESD shocks of up to 15kV (air discharge) / 8kV (contact discharge) and EFT shocks of 40A (5/50ns). Notably, the series also meets the IEC61000-4-5 standard, capable of withstanding lightning surge protection of 12A (8/20μs), offering comprehensive protection for devices.

 

In practical applications, the GBLC05C series demonstrates several exceptional characteristics. Its operating voltage range spans from 3V to 24V, including specifications of 3V, 5V, 8V, 12V, 15V, and 24V, which caters to diverse circuit design protection needs. The product features an ultra-fast response time of less than 1ns, activating the protection mechanism instantly when transient voltage occurs; a low clamping voltage of 9.8V ensures that sensitive components are not damaged by overvoltage; its ultra-low leakage current of 1.0μA has minimal impact on system power consumption, which is particularly important for battery-powered portable devices; and a very low junction capacitance of 0.8pF preserves signal integrity while protecting high-speed signals, making it ideal for high-frequency applications.

 

The GBLC05C is housed in a miniature SOD-323 package, with packaging materials that comply with UL94V-0 flammability standards, ensuring reliable operation even in high-temperature environments. Its terminals are made with high-quality plating that can withstand 260°C soldering for 10 seconds, fully complying with modern electronic manufacturing processes. The product is packaged in standard tape-and-reel format, with a 7-inch reel design for automated production, each reel containing 3000 devices. This significantly enhances production efficiency and reduces manufacturing costs. The compact package design makes it particularly suitable for space-constrained portable device applications, providing engineers with greater design flexibility.

Furthermore, the series is an excellent choice for USB interface protection, with its ultra-low capacitance ensuring high-speed data transmission is unaffected.

 

Compared to traditional circuit protection solutions, the GBLC05C series offers significant technical advantages. Its integrated array design can simultaneously protect multiple I/O lines, saving PCB space; solid-state silicon technology ensures no performance degradation over time; precise clamping characteristics provide ample protection without over-clamping; and its wide operating voltage range meets various application scenario needs. In practical circuit design, engineers can flexibly configure the GBLC05C protection solution based on specific needs. For single-line protection requirements, unidirectional devices can be chosen; for differential signal applications, bidirectional devices are recommended. Additionally, factors such as PCB layout and impedance matching should be considered to ensure the protection devices perform optimally.
