Global Semiconductor Industry Updates

2. In 2024, the global wafer foundry capacity distribution has changed significantly, with China becoming the largest wafer manufacturing base in the world, holding a 44% market share.

3. Samsung Electronics' preliminary operating profit for Q2 this year was 4.6 trillion KRW (3.3 billion USD), a decrease of approximately 56% compared to the same period last year.

4. Korean semiconductor and display equipment manufacturer Viatron has announced that it has signed a 10 billion KRW supply contract for display manufacturing equipment with Xiamen Tianma.

China Semiconductor Industry Updates

1. The Anhui Huaxin Micro-Nano 8-inch MEMS wafer production line, located in China's Sensor Valley D, has an investment of 5.06 billion CNY and is expected to enter mass production by the end of September this year.

2. UMC is actively advancing high-voltage process technology, including the 14nm FinFET embedded high-voltage process technology platform (14eHV), and has made new progress.

3. The second phase project of Fujian Jingxu Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd.—high-frequency filter chips based on gallium oxide piezoelectric thin films—is expected to start trial production in September this year, with a total investment of 1.68 billion CNY.

4. Recently, Huangshi City in Hubei Province signed a total of 25 projects, with a total investment of nearly 10 billion CNY, including 6 optoelectronic information industry projects, totaling 5.62 billion CNY in investment.

5. Xiamen Luwei Optoelectronics has laid the foundation for its high-generation, high-precision photomask project, with a planned total investment of 2 billion CNY. It will establish 11 high-end photomask production lines.

6. In June of this year, Guangzhou Automobile Group's vehicle production was 153,300 units, a year-on-year decrease of 10.05%; sales were 150,100 units, a year-on-year decrease of 8.22%.
