【Daily Highlight】Slkor Launches BTRD04A035: A New Bidirectional ESD Protection Option in DFN1006 Package

In the wave of smart terminals upgrading towards thinner, lighter, and higher-frequency designs, the potential threat of electrostatic discharge (ESD) to circuits has become increasingly prominent. As the functional density of portable products such as smartphones and wearable devices continues to rise, their internal high-speed signal links have put higher demands on the performance of ESD protection devices — they must not only resist high-intensity electrostatic shocks but also avoid affecting signal transmission integrity. Slkor has specifically launched the BTRD04A035 bidirectional ESD protection diode, which, with its compact DFN1006 package and balanced performance, builds a reliable protective barrier for consumer electronic devices.

As a protection device designed for high-frequency scenarios, the BTRD04A035 achieves precise balance in electrical performance: the reverse working voltage (VRWM) reaches 5.0V, compatible with mainstream low-voltage circuits; the reverse breakdown voltage (VBR) ranges from 5.6V to 8.4V (typical value 6.5V), ensuring no interference with signal transmission during normal operation; the forward clamping voltage (VC) is only 10V under 1A pulse and 12V under 5A pulse, which can quickly limit transient overvoltage to a safe range and protect sensitive chips at the backend. Its 15pF junction capacitance (CJ) and 0.1μA reverse leakage current (IR) further balance high-frequency signal compatibility and low power consumption requirements, making it perfectly suitable for high-speed data links.

In terms of protection capability, the device complies with the IEC 61000-4-2 standard, with both contact discharge and air discharge reaching ±25kV. It can withstand 5A (8/20μs) lightning pulse shocks, with a peak pulse power of 60W. Combined with nanosecond-level response speed, it can instantly suppress electrostatic and surge interference. The adopted DFN1006 package (dimensions 0.55-0.65mm × 0.95-1.05mm × 0.35-0.45mm) saves over 40% space compared to traditional packages, supports lead-free reflow soldering processes (peak temperature 260℃), meets MSL reliability requirements, and is compatible with high-density PCB layouts.

● All-scenario protection: ±25kV ESD protection and 5A lightning tolerance cover common electromagnetic interference scenarios in consumer electronics;

● High-frequency compatibility: 15pF low junction capacitance has minimal impact on high-speed signal transmission, adapt to high-frequency interfaces of smart terminals;

● Energy efficiency and integration: 0.1μA ultra-low leakage current extends device battery life, and the DFN1006 package facilitates thin and light product design.
