Global Semiconductor Industry Updates
1. Texas Instruments plans to increase prices on some production lines starting June 15, with an average increase of over 30%. The price hikes will primarily affect three categories of products: those with low profit margins, older part numbers, and those with unsatisfactory sales volumes. Domestic analog chip companies, such as Naxin Micro, Chuantu Micro, and SakoMicro, are expected to see improvements in profitability and market share as a result.
2. STMicroelectronics (ST) CEO Jean-Marc Chery stated that over the next three years, 5,000 employees will leave the company, including the previously announced 2,800 job cuts and about 2,000 due to natural attrition.
3. Samsung's 3nm process yield is progressing slowly. Even after three years of mass production, the 3nm yield remains at just 50%.
4. Broadcom has released its next-generation data center switch chip, Tomahawk6, which is capable of driving 100,000 GPUs to work in coordination with a single chip.
5. Intel, in collaboration with SoftBank, will establish a new company called “Saimemory” to develop a stacked DRAM solution that can replace high-bandwidth memory.
6. Synopsys and Cadence, two major EDA software providers, have halted their chip design software tool supply to Chinese companies.
China Semiconductor Industry Updates
1. China’s quantum chip design industrial software Q-EDA “本源坤元” has completed its fifth technical iteration.
2. Woge Optoelectronics plans to raise 1.5 billion yuan to invest in a glass-based MiniLED display backlight module project.
3. Mr. Song Shiqiang of Kinghelm/Slkor’s article, *“Song Shiqiang of Slkor: Trials and Reflections on AI Large Model Text Writing,”* has been widely re-shared by international media such as OpenPR.
4. Yingxin (Nanle) Zero-Carbon Semiconductor Materials Industrial Park has been completed and is now in operation.
5. Foxconn continues to expand its AI server production lines in Texas to serve its North American clients.
6. HP plans to withdraw its production lines for the North American market from China by the end of June this year.
