Slkor has launched the SLESD5304D, a state-of-the-art electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection diode designed for high-speed digital interfaces, primarily in consumer electronics, industrial communications, and display devices. This ultra-miniature diode, housed in a compact DFN2510 package, is tailored for demanding applications, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, USB4, and Thunderbolt 4. It offers superior protection for 5G devices, professional monitors, and data center visualization terminals.

Innovative Packaging Design and High-Efficiency Performance  

The SLESD5304D features a remarkably compact 2.5mm × 1.0mm DFN2510 package with a thin 0.5mm profile. This advanced package design reduces parasitic inductance to under 0.2nH, which significantly reduces insertion loss (<0.1dB at 10GHz). This makes it ideal for placement just 2mm behind HDMI connectors in portable devices, providing efficient protection while saving space.

 

Ultra-Low Capacitance and Signal Integrity Preservation  

Designed for high-speed applications such as 8K video transmission, the SLESD5304D boasts an impressive junction capacitance of just 0.03pF—90% lower than traditional TVS diodes. This ultra-low capacitance ensures minimal impact on high-frequency differential pair transmission, maintaining near-original signal quality. In HDMI 2.1 48Gbps transmission tests, the protected signal retains 98.7% of the original eye pattern margin, demonstrating its exceptional ability to preserve signal integrity.

 

Dynamic ESD Response and Long-Term Stability  

The SLESD5304D features a dual-mode triggering mechanism that ensures precise avalanche breakdown voltage during ESD events, maintaining a stable clamping voltage of 8.5V during an IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge ±8kV test. It also exhibits excellent energy handling, safely absorbing peak currents of up to 50A during surge events. The device’s low dynamic resistance (0.5Ω) is crucial for protecting outdoor display devices from both ESD and lightning surge events. Furthermore, it ensures stable performance, with minimal leakage current (1μA) even after 1000 hours of operation at 85°C, making it highly reliable for long-term use in environments such as medical imaging or industrial vision systems.

 

Anticipated Growth and Future Developments  

With the exponential growth of digital visual interfaces driven by 8K displays, AI, and edge computing, Slkor is already working on next-generation GaN-based protection devices.
