The SLESD5C051V meets the stringent IEC 61000-4-2 standard, offering ESD protection up to ±15kV (air discharge) and ±8kV (contact discharge). It also effectively resists EFT events defined by the IEC 61000-4-4 standard with a 40A (5/50ns) pulse, ensuring stable operation in electrically noisy environments. The device has a peak pulse power dissipation capacity of up to 60W (8/20μs waveform). This means that even when subjected to large transient energy surges, the SLESD5C051V can effectively absorb and dissipate energy, preventing damage to the sensitive circuits downstream. It features an excellent low clamping voltage characteristic (typical VC = 10V @ IPP). When an ESD event occurs, it quickly limits the transient overvoltage to a safe level far below the voltage tolerance of the protected chip (VRWM = 5V, VBR min = 5.6V), minimizing the stress on the sensitive components. Under normal operating conditions (5V working voltage), the leakage current (IR) of the SLESD5C051V is as low as the microampere (µA) level (typical value 1µA), virtually not increasing the system’s static power consumption. Critically, its junction capacitance (CJ) is only 6.5pF (typical value). This ultra-low parasitic capacitance value is essential for minimizing the load effect on the signal path, ensuring signal fidelity even in applications that require high signal purity but lower data rates (such as analog signal lines and low-speed control lines), and avoiding signal distortion or delays introduced by protection devices. The SOD-523 is one of the industry’s most widely adopted miniature packages, with an ultra-small size (approximately 1.2mm x 0.8mm), providing designers with significant flexibility in space-constrained PCB layouts, especially suitable for high-density board designs.
